Michelle McCleon is approaching a decade of experience as a licensed cosmetologist, and yet in many ways her career is just now hitting a new stride.

 

Having gone straight from high school, where she cut and styled select students' hair, to the Maryland Beauty Academy in Essex, Michelle began building a word-of-mouth clientele at a young age. 

 

After earning her license, Michelle went straight to State Board where she simultaneously took both the theory and hands-on exams, passing them on the first try. After interviewing with different salons, she eventually found her match with Salon P, which at the time was in its own startup phase. 

 

Within a year she built a steady client base, some of which she credits to word-of-mouth, and some of which she credits to utilizing the powerful tool of Instagram.

 

Michelle consistently posts before and after photos of her clients' new cuts and styles, which has resulted in catapulting her client base and following to higher levels. 

 

Michelle's vision is to return to the salon world as a coordinator and teacher. She stays current with industry techniques through continuing education classes and is constantly looking for a new, fresh, and manageable way to style hair.
